The Wee Rock Music Festival

Mission 4 Music, in partnership with Adams Recreation Council, will be hosting the second annual ‘Wee Rock Music Festival’ on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Adams Recreation Center from 12 to 5 PM.

This FREE event will showcase local bands in a picnic style, family friendly atmosphere. The bands will perform familiar children’s songs employing their own melodic approach, as well as some of their original tunes. Income will be generated from a raffle held throughout the event, along with space rental earnings from food and merchandise vendors. All proceeds will benefit ARTS, A Reason To Survive, Inc. ARTS is a local non-profit that help San Diego Children facing life challenges through free arts and music programs. 2007 Beneficiary: Guitars in the Classroom

All proceeds from our 2007 Wee Rock Music Festival were donated to Guitars in the Classroom, a national non-profit organization, to start a GITC program in San Diego city schools. GITC brings music into elementary and middle schools by offering teachers free guitars, music education, song leadership and music integration lessons. By providing instruction, access to instruments and resource materials, GITC empowers educators to transform classrooms into musical environments that bring out the best in every student, engaging them in studies across the curriculum.
